This guy gets the Darwin award for sure.

It's hard to tell if he notched it first (doesn't look like it) but there certainly aren't any counter sway ropes attached and he just seems to be winging it.

I can't even deal with it. I hope his homeowners just laughs. No, seriously, I had a tree 1 foot from my house when I first bought it. I tied ropes to it and had 5 people pulling in the opposite direction. Then notched the trunk. It basically fell exactly where I wanted it. How could that woman videoing not know that thing was already prime and leaning toward the house? Double Darwin award.

Wow... I have no idea what he was doing. Why didn't he have a come-a-long on the tree and a notch to fall it away?

Because without people like him, where would we get our entertainment?

The short version: Because entertainment.

Would've been cheaper to hire a professional to fell it and then he could cut up the carcass. I used to work in the tree industry and amateurs do more damage and have more injuries and deaths by far.

That sounds about right. Amateurs routinely figure "I can save a few buck! I will do it myself!" Several hours, a broken water pipe and many stitches later, they call the professionals.
